Arolithos Traditional Cretan Village Hotel in Tilisos

Arolithos Traditional Cretan Village Hotel is a recreation of a traditional Cretan village and contains the Museum of Rural History and Folk Craft. The museum displays an exhibition of agricultural life and handicrafts from the region of Heraklion. Two houses on the property represent rural homes of the 19th century.

The village is located on a hillside 11km from Heraklion city and 20 minutes by car from the airport. Guests have a view of the valley, Heraklion city, and the surrounding mountains. The ruins of Knossos are close, and the East-West highway is easily accessible.

The hotel offers hands-on experiences including Cretan cooking classes and traditional bread kneading. Professional dancers teach Cretan dances such as Zorba the Greek and Syrtaki. Yoga classes, a blacksmith's workshop, and a textiles workshop are located on the property.

The Agora restaurant serves authentic Cretan dishes using products from local producers. The hotel shop, Dictamo, offers a variety of local products including olive oil, wine, and raki. The restaurant also operates as a venue for weddings, baptisms, banquets, and corporate events.

Room types include single, double, triple, and quadruple units (2 adults + 2 children). Some rooms provide fireplaces with baskets of wood for an extra fee during November-March. The hotel has a swimming pool, a pool bar, sun loungers, and daily cleaning.
